Cayin CP6 — Summary

The Cayin CP6 is a portable audiophile CD player that combines physical CD playback with modern digital connectivity, a tube-based output stage, and powerful headphone amplification.

• True tube sound: Uses two genuine Raytheon JAN6418 NOS tubes and offers three selectable modes: Classic Tube, Modern Tube, and Solid-State. These modes work through headphone, line, and Bluetooth outputs.
• CD playback & ripping: Plays CDs and can rip them as WAV files to USB-connected storage.
• High-resolution USB DAC: Supports PCM up to 32-bit/384 kHz and native DSD256, using dual Cirrus Logic CS4308P DACs and an XMOS XU316 USB processor.
• Powerful headphone amplifier: Fully balanced, discrete four-channel design with Class A or Class AB operation. It provides both 3.5 mm single-ended and 4.4 mm balanced outputs and supports headphones from 8–600 Ω. Balanced output reaches up to 1,300 mW + 1,300 mW at 16 Ω with external power.
• Bluetooth 5.4: Works as both a Bluetooth transmitter and receiver, supporting LDAC, aptX Adaptive, aptX HD, aptX, AAC, and SBC.
• Portable design: A 7,300 mAh battery provides approximately 7.5 hours of playback, depending on usage. QC and PD fast charging are supported.
• Premium construction: Features an aluminium chassis, physical controls, and a 2.3-inch colour display, giving it the feel of a compact hi-fi component.
• Home/desktop connectivity: Can act as a source for a larger audio system through 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm line outputs, coaxial and optical digital outputs, or Bluetooth transmission.

In short: The CP6 is an all-in-one portable hi-fi system for CD collectors who want genuine tube sound, high-resolution DAC functionality, powerful balanced headphone output, CD ripping, and modern Bluetooth connectivity in a single device.
