So, you recently got a new pair of headphones or IEMs, and they are running off a 4.4mm balanced connector, but you can’t use it with your old DAP player due to it only having 3.5mm/2.5mm connections. While 4.4mm plugs are becoming the default standard for portable audio, many legacy dongle dacs, portable amplifiers and DAP players, are still using the 2.5mm connectors for balanced output.
