Empress Wu has arrived!
Tangzu's latest IEM earphone is named after Empress Wu, being the one and only Chinese female emperor and ruled during the Tang Dynasty with effective governance and leadership.
The Zetian Wu IEM earphone from Tangzu, similarly to Empress Wu, commands attention in the hotly-contested Planar Driver market.
Bringing forward the 14.5mm Planar Driver implementation, housed in a 3D printed resin shell housing that is carefully designed for an ergonomic and comfortable fit.
Finishing off with a metal faceplate clad in violet colour to signify noble origins, further enhancing the outlook with auspicious clouds pattern engraved onto it.
The Zetian Wu can be considered a U shaped tuning. Low frequency had a sub bass focus characteristic over the mid bass.
Treble is relatively smooth with a slight hint of rolling off at the very end making it a very easy listening earphone.
Sibilance rejection is very well done, the mids are not as forward but does have a nice touch of warmth.
A side note on the Zetian Wu, it benefits from cable change and ear tip rolling. While not considered hard to drive, it does benefit from additional amplification.
